Monalisa Sam – Founding and Managing Director

These include the Retail, Property Management, Food Services and Commercial Aviation. Monalisa has extensive experience in retail and property sectors with a specific focus in commercial revenue planning. This has been facilitated by her extensive knowledge of the fundamentals of commercial strategy formulation and delivery. She has a demonstrable track record of delivering optimal retail results in high growth environments such as shopping malls, airports as well as food & beverage services.

Her retail track record includes being the first and youngest Centre Manager of largest shopping centre in South Africa’s biggest township, Soweto – Maponya Mall as well as previously managing Cavendish Square and The Zone in Rosebank both under the Old Mutual Group Property portfolio.

As a Retail Specialist for Compass Group SA, her experience and expertise were integral to the development and delivery of a retail strategy across group’s business units. Compass Group SA is one of the largest food services company in South Africa with a national footprint. In her role she was responsible for developing and implementing enhanced commercial and retail value to various business units as well as units operating at South Africa’s international and national airports, thereby improving revenue margins and profitability.

Her know-how in these diverse retail environments has given her exposure to more than 650 retailers in different retail categories. These experiences have extended her knowledge in retail business and understanding the challenges faced by informal traders who have previously not been exposed to formal retail dynamics.

Lynette Ntuli – Project Development Executive

Lynette Ntuli is the founding director and executive consultant at the property, asset and infrastructure development and solutions firm; Innate Investment Solutions (Pty) Ltd.

A commerce graduate, Lynette has previously held positions at Deloitte and Touché, Motseng Marriott Corporate Property, Motseng Property Services and the Durban Business Enhancement Initiative in various senior leadership roles in the commercial and retail property sector and in the business development and investment promotion arena.

Lynette has been well profiled for her executive positions, amongst them becoming the first black woman in South Africa to become GM of a super regional shopping centre (The Pavilion) and CEO of the Durban Business Enhancement Initiative.

She has come away from her experiences with a track record in property management and development, exposure to Corporate Affairs; Governance; Operations and Talent Management, retail development, strategy development and implementation; business and trade development, international business and in depth economic knowledge; project management skills and a vast knowledge of the regulatory environment that governs commercial activities.

In addition to her experience and her bachelor’s degree; she also holds a Certificate in Shopping Centre Management (CSCM) and an Advanced Certificate in Shopping Centre Leadership (ACSCL) from the University of Pretoria.

Passionate about development and leadership, Lynette is a Director of IgniteSA.com and a nationally and internationally recognised professional speaker on a large variety of business and socio economic subjects.

Awards and accolades received include the Fun Fearless Female Award 2008 Cosmopolitan Magazine (Associated Magazines SA – December 2008); “Woman to Watch” Destiny Magazine (Ndalo Media – June 2009); “Under 30 and on Top Feature” O Magazine (The Oprah Magazine – April 2009), the Mail and Guardian’s 200 Young South Africans 2012 Award. Lynette is actively involved at an executive and member level within various organisations including the Business Women’s Association (Vice Chair – KZN), International Women’s Forum (IWFSA)(Executive Roundtable 2010 and Young Leaders Connect), Women’s Property Network (WPN) (Developed the Mentorship Portfolio 2007-2012), Institute of Directors SA (IODSA), South African Property Owners Association (SAPOA) and the South African Council of Shopping Centres (SACSC).

She has served as a SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise/ Enactus) National and World Cup Final Round Judge (Malaysia 2011); Retail Development and Design Awards 2009 Judge; a Green Building Council of S.A Technical Working Committee member for the development of the Retail Green Star Tool and a South African Council of Shopping Centres (SACSC) KZN Committee Member.
